Classic Crepes with Rose-Scented Cream
A delightful breakfast to start my morning beckons a good day ahead. Crepes are normally my go-to because they are simple and easy to make. Though it may seem like an ordinary meal, you can turn it into a nutritious one by topping them with fresh fruits and cream! I would normally go for rose-scented cream, as it softens the floury taste of the crepe itself, giving a sweet and delicate texture when you bite into it. Using the KitchenAid® Artisan® Mini Stand Mixer has definitely made cream preparation much more convenient and desirable.
- For The Crepes
- 256 gram All-Purpose Flour
- 3 Eggs
- 57 gram Melted Butter
- 3 tbsps Caster Sugar
- 3 cups Milk (1/2 c at a time)
- For The Rose-Scented Cream
- 300 milliliters Thickened Cream
- 30 gram Caster Sugar
- 2 tbsps Rosewater
Begin with preparing the dry and wet ingredients for the crepe batter. Mix the sifted all-purpose flour and caster sugar in a big bowl before the wet ingredients are added to them. To prepare the wet ingredients, whisk melted butter, milk and eggs together in a separate bowl. Next, pour in the wet ingredients (1/4 at a time) into the dry ingredients’ bowl, and mix the batter evenly.
The next step is heating a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Pour 2 tablespoons of batter into the pan and swirl it to cover the base. Then, cook it for 3 minutes, turn over and cook it for 1 minute. Finally, transfer it onto a plate.
For the rose-scented cream, whisk caster sugar and thickened cream with the KitchenAid® Artisan® Mini Stand Mixer until soft peaks form. Next, add rosewater and whisk them until still peaks form.
The crepes and cream are ready to be served! Scoop the cream over the crepes, topped up with your favorite fresh fruits for a scrumptious and delicious breakfast. It’s simply a great start to your day!
