SOUFFLÉED OMELET

Imagine waking up to warm homemade breakfast in bed on a rainy Sunday morning, whipped up by your significant other. Chivalry is not dead when they can put a smile on your face with a simple souffléed omelet, complete with sliced avocado, sundried tomatoes or crispy maple-glazed bacon. KitchenAid® Artisan® Mini Mixer is the hero on this recipe. This excellent mixer will not only beat the egg whites perfectly to the right consistency, but also takes minimal effort and is time-efficient. Please note that this recipe serves 1-2 people depending on the size of your pan.


Ingredients

  • 3 Large Eggs
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Chopped Chives
  • Grated Cheddar (optional)
 

Directions

  1. Separate the egg whites and the egg yolks into two separate bowls. Whisk the egg yolks with a fork (or a whisk if you have one)

  2. Transfer the egg whites in KitchenAid® Artisan® Mini Mixer. Then, add a pinch of salt. Using the whisk attachment, whip the egg whites till they form stiff peaks.

  3. Next, add the whisked yolks in the mixer until the entire egg mixture is incorporated at lower speed.

  4. Heat a small non-stick pan at medium-high temperature. Add a small piece of butter. Then, transfer half of the mixture in the pan and sprinkle grated cheddar on the top (this is optional if you like cheese). Cook them for 3-4 minutes (or until it is puffed and browned at the bottom side).

  5. Finally, fold the omelet gently with a silicon spatula. Transfer it on a plate and garnish it with chopped chives!
